  • HSE to Launch Master’s Programme in Digital Engineering and Video Game Development

    The HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics is introducing a new online master’s programme: ‘Digital Engineering for Computer Games.’ This educational initiative aims to train specialists in video game creation, interactive applications, and simulation software. Students will explore game development technologies, game engines, artificial intelligence, advanced programming methods, and the design of complex systems.

  • Grand Opening of Renovated Student Coworking Space Held at HSE

    The development and implementation of the project took almost a year. Several planning solutions were proposed and the optimal one was selected quickly. The main tasks to be solved included various scenarios for space utilisation, acoustic comfort, and modern multimedia equipment.

  • ‘Boundless Love for the East’: What Changes to Expect at Master’s Programme in Asian and MENA Studies

    Starting from the new academic year, significant changes are expected in the Master’s programme ‘Socio-Economic and Political Development of Modern Asia,’ now renamed ‘Modern Asian and MENA Studies.’ Originally the first master’s programme in Russia offered fully in English, the programme has been run for 12 years by HSE University’s Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs.

  • ‘Studying at the University of Bologna Is Very Different from How We Study at HSE’

    Alina Pakhomova, a fourth-year student of the Bachelor’s Programme ‘Information Science and Computation Technology’ at HSE MIEM, spent six months studying at the oldest university in Europe — the University of Bologna. She went to Italy as part of an academic mobility programme, and upon returning to Moscow, she shared her impressions of life and studying abroad, her leisure activities, new friends, and, of course, the famous Italian cuisine.

  • Scientists Examine Neurobiology of Pragmatic Reasoning

    An international team including scientists from HSE University has investigated the brain's ability to comprehend hidden meanings in spoken messages. Using fMRI, the researchers found that unambiguous meanings activate brain regions involved in decision-making, whereas processing complex utterances engages regions responsible for analysing context and the speaker's intentions. 

  • ‘Mayflies Are Drifting along the River–This Is a Symbol that Everything Goes By’

    Arseniy Uspenskij (Litvin) initially studied Indology but ultimately focused on Assyriology. In an interview with the HSE Young Scientists project, he discussed the metrical structure of Akkadian poetry, the deciphering of the Behistun inscription, and King Sargon.

  • ICEF HSE Takes Part in Study Abroad Fair in China among World's Leading Universities

    On March 18, 2025, the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), Chengdu, China welcomed its counterparts to the SWUFE Study Abroad Fair. Russia was represented for the first time at the fair by a delegation from HSE University, including members of ICEF.

  • League of Robot Runners: HSE Team Wins International Competition

    A team of students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, led by Anton Andreychuk, a researcher from the AIRI Institute, won first place in all categories of the international League of Robot Runners competition. This contest for developers focuses on advancing research in multi-agent pathfinding (MAPF) and AI-based task distribution systems for large warehouses.
